As college alumnus, heritage researcher and interested observer over more than sixty years, Denis Bergin has seen the North Kildare town of Maynooth undergo an amazing transformation that is destined to make it a dynamic regional centre by 2040. Here he relates some of the personal anecdotes, historical sidelights and controversial issues that have attended this unique progress.
