Governance
The RDS was established by Charter in 1750 and is registered as a charity in Ireland with the Charities Regulatory Authority. The RDS currently has four key governing documents: the 1750 Charter, the 1868 and 1888 Supplemental Charters and the By-Laws. The Society’s charitable purposes are contained in these governing documents.
