1. Which events require qualification?

  • All National Show Jumping classes require qualification

Details of all qualifiers can be found on the website by clicking here

2. Show Operations

When will competitors know that the RDS National Championships are definitely going ahead?

Due to ongoing uncertainty around Covid-19 restrictions, Government approval will be required for this event to proceed. All potential competitors will be informed as soon as Government advice relating to the RDS National Championships has been finalised. We hope that this will be finalised very shortly.

How will stabiling operate at this event?

In order to minimise the number of contacts any competitor has with other households, there will be no stabling facilities available at the RDS this year. Competitors will be expected to prepare for their competition in their transport vehicles in order to maximise social distancing.

When can I arrive with my horse / pony?

Horses / ponies can only arrive at their allocated times. The arrival times will be allocated once all entries have been processed.

Will entry fees remain the same?

Entry fees for the RDS National Championships have been reduced for all classes; €120 per showing entry and €170 per show jumping entry.

Can I stay and watch other classes when my event is finished?

Under current guidelines competitors will be asked to leave after their competition and minimise social interaction with others while on the grounds. Under Covid-19 guidelines, this is standard practice across equine sports.

Can I bring my horse in early or leave early?

Exhibitors must adhere to the arrivals and departures times listed in the Schedule. Exhibitors must vacate on the day their class adjudication is finished.

Will there be trade stands at the Show for those competing?

There will be no shopping stands at the RDS National Championships. To keep numbers attending to a minimum, only those involved with that particular day’s competitions will be permitted entry to the RDS grounds during the RDS National Championships. Other facilities on the RDS grounds will also be kept to a minimum to reduce numbers on site.

Where can I watch the competitions?

Live-streaming of certain classes will take place and will be available on this website and across the Dublin Horse Show social media channels.

3. Tickets and Entry

How many tickets do I receive with my entry?

Six exhibitor wristbands will be issued for each horse or pony entered at the RDS National Championships.

The wristband system will operate as follows – each owner will receive vouchers which must be surrendered upon arrival at the Showgrounds in exchange for wristbands.  These vouchers are not admission tickets and must be used to redeem a wristband at the Shrewsbury Gate (Arrivals Area) Porta Cabin.

The RDS is committed to adhering to Government COVID-19 protocols to enable equestrian sport to operate under COVID-19 restrictions.  Contact tracing and the wearing of face masks will be mandatory.

Each owner will be required to declare the name of each person attending with their horse on their own Contact Tracing / Self Declaration form.  Each attendant / groom must complete their own declaration form and name the owner for whom they are attending.

Can I apply for additional tickets?

In order to minimise the number of contacts any competitor has with other households, there will be no additional tickets available for the RDS National Championships this year.
