RDS Gold Medal for Enterprise

The RDS Gold Medal Award for Enterprise is one of the Society's flagship awards, presented to an individual who has made an exceptional impact in Irish industry and commerce.

Since its inception in 1992 the Medal has been awarded to many of Ireland’s most prominent business people. Past winners have shown considerable professional and leadership skills, imbued confidence in Ireland's business community through their success, and contributed employment and economic development in Ireland. 

2021 RDS Gold Medal  

Brian McCarthy, Founder and Executive Chairman, Fexco is the recipient of the 2021 RDS Gold Medal for Enterprise in recognition of his extraordinary achievements in the financial services sector. 

Brian McCarthy’s record of achievement marks him out as one of the most important and influential figures in Irish business over the last 40 years. His dynamism and vision have transformed Fexco into the remarkable Irish, and international, success story that we know today. Brian is a role model for all Irish entrepreneurs, and the RDS is delighted to recognise his success by presenting him with the 2021 RDS Gold Medal for Enterprise.
