Library Collections
The RDS Library collections contain over 100,000 items comprising of monographs and journals of Irish and general interest. Open access material is available for loan by RDS Members and all other material is available for consultation in the Library.
Archival Collections
For nearly 300 years the RDS has been active in supporting innovation and creativity in industry and the arts in Ireland. The RDS Archival Collections reflect this legacy with material dating back to the foundation of the Society in 1731.
Dublin Horse Show Archive
The Dublin Horse Show Archive contains the records of the Show dating back to 1868. Comprising of catalogues, photographs, posters, postcards, medals and trophies, it is one of the largest collections of its kind in Europe.
RDS Art Collection
Our heritage collection of paintings, sculptures and prints reflects the Society’s encouragement of the fine arts in Ireland since its foundation in 1731, as well as its support of artists and craftspeople through the RDS Drawing Schools.
