The STEM Programme (Teacher Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) is an innovative and interactive professional development programme aimed at developing primary school teachers' pedagogical and conceptual knowledge of science.
The goal of the RDS Foundation Science and Technology programme is to encourage the development of science and mathematical skills in primary school aged children by fostering education innovation.
The RDS Primary Science Fair encourages primary school teachers to focus on developing students’ scientific skills by investigating a question or problem. Through working together to question, observe, record and then make sense of what they find, students develop core life skills which provide them with a strong foundation for their future path in life.
The RDS is proud to be a founding partner of Dublin’s annual science festival, ‘The Festival of Curiosity’, a three-day festival of science and culture which provides an opportunity for parents, families and the public to interact with science as a cultural activity outside of the academic year.
Inaugurated in 1899, the Boyle Medal continues to recognise scientific research of exceptional merit and remains to this day Ireland's premier science award.
