Membership of an Historic Society

Over the centuries membership of the Royal Dublin Society has been much sought after: new Members are always welcomed and encouraged to join one of Ireland’s most prestigious and historic Societies.

Since its inception in 1731, the Society has remained committed to the advancement and promotion of agriculture, industry, science and art in Ireland. RDS Members take pride in conserving these ideals and in contributing to decisions and activities which further the broad economic and cultural development of Ireland.

Become a Member during the Dublin Horse Show

During the 2016 Dublin Horse Show there will be information on Membership available at the Membership Stand in the Main Hall, at the RDS Craft Awards in the Concert Hall and at the Members’ Bar @ the Main Arena.

During the Show, Members enjoy

  • Complimentary admission to the Dublin Horse Show each day
  • Reduced entry fee for animals in certain classes
  • Access to the beautifully appointed Members’ Club each day
  • Access to the dedicated Members’ Bar @ the Main Arena
  • A complimentary seated stand ticket in the Main Arena (must be pre-booked)

Membership Benefits

The Society offers a wide range of benefits and advantages for its Members. These include the splendid Members' Club facilities and services, reciprocal benefits in other Clubs worldwide, car parking, Library, and Member events and networking opportunities.

How to Join

To join the Society you need to complete an application form which can be posted to you. Alternatively, you can download a copy of the RDS Membership Application Form (PDF document, 248KB). You will also need to be proposed by two existing Members. If finding a proposer poses a difficulty, please contact the Membership Administrator, Mary Donnelly at the numbers below: she will endeavour to assist you.
