The Flora of County Carlow

This publication marks an important contribution to floristic studies in Ireland.

The Flora of County Carlow

The work is in the tradition of Praeger – an inventory of the native plants and established aliens found in County Carlow, accompanied by habitat notes and distribution within the county. Copies are available from the RDS Library at a cost of €70.00 and €50.00 for RDS Members.

Short accounts are given by invited botanists on mosses, lichens, fungi, and algae to provide a complete picture of the environment in an area of south east Ireland. This is the first flora of an inland county, the first written by a woman, and the first county flora to be published in Ireland since 1950. Written by Evelyn Booth and published in 1979 by the Royal Dublin Society. ISBN 0-86027-003-3.
