Historical figures will be brought to life in this lively discussion with historian and broadcaster David McCullagh, author of 'De Valera: Rule (1932-1975) Volume 2' (Gill Books), and Fergus O’Farrell, author of 'Cathal Brugha' (UCD Press).

David McCullagh offers us balanced and well-researched accounts of Eamon de Valera in his efforts after the Irish War of Independence, in this sequel following on from 'De Valera: Rise (1882-1932)' (Gill Books).

Similarly, Fergus O’Farrell’s extensive research gives us a unique insight into Cathal Brugha’s complex attitude towards violence in the Irish War of Independence. Fergus has recently published the first English-language biography of Cathal Brugha with UCD Press, and his writing has appeared in The Irish Times, the London School of Economics Review of Books and History Ireland.
